Recently, Michelin was awarded the Automotive Innovation Prize in the "Chassis, Body, and Exterior" category for its tire made with 45% sustainable materials.

The award, jointly presented by Pricewaterhouse Coopers and the German Automotive Management Center, aims to recognize cutting-edge innovations in the automotive engineering field. It is reported that this tire was officially launched in 2022 and has obtained approval for road use. Serving as a significant milestone in Michelin's accelerated sustainable innovation, the technology behind this tire is set to be widely applied in tire production by 2025. Michelin has expressed its readiness to raise the proportion of sustainable materials in all tires to 40% by 2030, and by 2050, their goal is to manufacture tires using 100% biologically sourced, renewable, or recyclable materials. The tire manufacturer is committed to integrating its sustainable materials strategy into all business lines and products.

Achieving this goal will require a profound transformation of production methods, tools, and industrial processes, and it also signifies the creation of new fields and value chains in research and development and industrial sectors.
